As The Gutsy Group’s primary objective is to raise funds to financially sponsor medical and scientific research into Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, we are not equipped to be an information source nor a support group for people with irritable bowel disease. However, the links below can direct you to useful sources of information.
- The Gastroenterological Society of Australia – This is Australia’s peak body for the disciplines of gastroenterology and hepatology.
- The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases – Part of the National Institutes of Health of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
- Parenteral Nutrition Down Under – Aims to support research, inform consumers, carers and providers about parenteral nutrition for intestinal failure.
- MedlinePlus – A service from the US National Library of Medicine, the world’s largest medical library, and the National Institutes of Health.
The following links will take you to an interactive tutorial from Medline Plus that assists in understanding Crohn’s disease or the PDF file of the tutorial.
The Oxford and St Vincent’s Intestinal Disease Research Foundation (OVID) fosters collaborative research links between the Gastroenterology Departments of St Vincent’s Public Hospital in Sydney and the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Its primary goal is the facilitation and acceleration of gastroenterological research being undertaken or led by St Vincent’s and Oxford, via timely and proper funding.
